i stumbled upon an unexpectedly cool night of music presented by the extraordinary passion of the weiss. fresh from the UK, mount kimbie made their first LA appearance, and were joined by a long-list of diverse djs, all set against a visually charged backdrop at the downtown independent theater. plenty of visual candy, including one of my dry wet mess featured above. it was an evening of charismatic drummers and frontmen at the band of horses show at the greek. the talent behind the drums for opening bands darker my love (pictured above) and admiral radley kept me transfixed, along with band of horses’ ever so charming frontman, ben bridwell. check out my photos and review over on BUZZBANDS.LA!

while i was bouncing around taking photos at lobsterfest, my friend vicki found out that she is allergic to lobster. being the great friend that i am, i missed her near-death experience entirely, but thank god for first-aid tents and claritin. i am happy to say that she rebounded quite magically and we actually had a very fun day of music on the water in san pedro, ca. review and slide show over on BUZZBANDS.LA.
